A\ufeff slam dunk hole-in-one is possibly the rarest shot achievable in golf<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While it only earns the player an eagle – an albatross obviously trumps that – the fact the ball drops directly into the cup without touching the green makes it an almost impossible feat, and one most golfers don't even actively attempt.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for Bryson DeChambeau<\/a>, his slam dunk at Augusta National on Thursday may have looked impressive but it only earned him a par on the scorecard.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe 2020 US Open winner put his first shot off the tee into the water on the eighth hole.<\/p>\n

He was penalised a stroke for retaking his tee shot.<\/p>\n

With his third official stroke, DeChambeau landed the ball straight in the hole, sending the crowd and the other players on the tee box wild.<\/p>\n

His shot may be on highlight reels for years to come but it can't even be called a hole-in-one.\ufeff<\/p>\n

It was a highlight \ufeffof Thursday's par-3 contest, which is held the day before The Masters gets underway.<\/p>\n

Five players\ufeff – Luke List, Gary Woodland, Sepp Straka, Lucas Glover and Viktor Hovland – earned trophies for nailing holes-in-one during the tournament.<\/p>\n

DeChambeau was not one of them.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Rickie Fowler won the contest by shooting a 5-under 22 and was presented with a crystal bowl.<\/p>\n
