A chance to play for the Olyroos \ufeffhas been knocked back by Bayern Munich<\/a>-bound star Nestory Irankunda, just days after he was left out of the original squad<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 18-year-old Irankunda<\/a> was informally asked about joining the team at the 11th hour for the Olympic qualifiers in Qatar, as a replacement for injured winger Marco Tilio, according to sources who spoke with The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The report claims Irankunda was initially left out of the Olyroos team due to fears it might "damage" him.<\/p>\n

The star player, who was born in Tanzania\ufeff and is also eligible to represent Burundi, where his parents were born, is said to be committed to playing for Australia, despite knocking back a chance to play in the Olympic qualifiers.<\/p>\n

It's understood Irankunda\ufeff, who dominated with two assists in a 4-2 comeback victory over Perth Glory in the A-League, would rather play the four remaining games for Adelaide before moving to the European giants.<\/p>\n

The Olyroos are yet to reveal who will come into their squad for Tilio, and will make at least one more change.<\/p>\n
