PHILADELPHIA:<\/strong> J\ufeffohn Cena has dropped a major hint on his future with WWE, claiming there is "still rubber left on the tyres" as his career in wrestling winds down.<\/p>\n

The 16-time world champion \ufeffmade a shock appearance at WrestleMania 40<\/a> on Monday (AEST), helping Cody Rhodes<\/a> finish his story and take down The Bloodline in one of the most chaotic matches in the company's history.<\/p>\n

Cena took out Solo Sikoa, tossing him through the announce table, before going toe-to-toe with old rival The Rock in a spine-tingling moment at Lincoln Financial Field.<\/p>\n

But his cameo has left question marks over his own future and on a live appearance at WWE World with The Pat McAfee Show, the 46-year-old claimed he isn't ready to hang up the boots for good – but time is running out.<\/p>\n

"I've speculated a lot about when it is that I hang up the jorts, but it wasn't last night and I still have a little bit of rubber left on the tyres," Cena said.<\/p>\n

"When that time is done, that means it's gone. I'm actively trying to craft that path right now. I put a line in the sand for myself at 50. I honestly think it's going to be before that.<\/p>\n

"Many are calling this the greatest WrestleMania ever. I agree, what a spectacle. That's because of the talent that actually put the time in. I showed up for 90 seconds. This is the greatest WrestleMania with or without my involvement.<\/p>\n

"It is going to be time for me to go. I'm embracing that … it allows me to be present."<\/p>\n

Rhodes claiming victory in the final match of a dramatic weekend in Philadelphia was the cherry on top for WWE's new era both on and off-screen.<\/p>\n

Despite the resurgence and freshness of the WWE product, Cena still has plans to put a bow on his legendary career, hinting at a potential return for "one last run" in 2024 as he attempts to juggle his continued rise in fame in the Hollywood world.<\/p>\n
