Australia's new boxing<\/a> world champion Skye Nicolson has wasted no time in calling out her
\n next fight, issuing a challenge to former world title holder Amanda Serrano.\n<\/p>\n

Nicolson was dominant in her fight against Denmark's Sarah Mahfoud in Las Vegas on
\n Sunday, claiming her first WBC featherweight boxing title in a unanimous decision (100-90,
\n 100-90, 99-91).\n<\/p>\n

Keeping her perfect professional record intact, the 28-year-old has quickly turned her
\n attention to a potential showdown against Puerto Rican boxing champion Amanda Serrano.<\/p>\n

Serrano, who currently holds the other three belts in the featherweight decision, vacated the
\n WBC belt in December, protesting the organisation's decision to limit women's title fights to
\n 10 rounds.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old champion previously revealed she will only fight Nicolson under the
\n condition it is a fight over 12 three-minute rounds, a challenge which the Aussie says she is ready
\n for.\n<\/p>\n

"I'm ready when she's ready. I want the belts. It's nothing personal Amanda, but I'm ready
\n when you are," Nicolson said in her post-fight interview.\n<\/p>\n

"I find it funny that she waited until I was her mandatory to decide that's what she wanted to
\n do but look, I respect the WBC's rules – that's why I'm still boxing for the WBC belt.\n<\/p>\n

"If the only way to fight Amanda Serrano is over 12 three-minute rounds, talk to my team and
\n we'll make it happen."<\/p>\n

Speaking to Code Sports, Nicolson revealed she has spoken with Matchroom about
\n defending her title against Serrano on Australian soil, aiming to bring more attention to the
\n next generation of female boxing.\n<\/p>\n

"That's the goal," she said.\n<\/p>\n

"I'm probably up there (as the highest-paid Australian female boxer), but for me, it's all about
\n legacy.\n<\/p>\n
