There are serious fears Angus Bell's season might be over after suffering an injury to his foot in the Waratahs'<\/a> loss to the Brumbies<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The prop went down in the 17th minute of the round seven Super Rugby Pacific<\/a> derby.<\/p>\n

Visibly distraught, Bell wandered off shortly thereafter having been attended to by team medical staff.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Stan Sport's coverage, Wallabies legend Tim Horan said there was "great concern" in the Waratahs camp.<\/p>\n

He feared Bell could be out for up to six months if it's found he has suffered a Lisfranc fracture in his mid-foot. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"I hope it's not long-term," said Horan.<\/p>\n

"When he came off you could see how dejected he was. It's the same foot that he injured at the start of last year. Just made the Rugby World Cup.<\/p>\n

"I spoke to him about a year ago when he had the operation. They took the small bit of bone out so he couldn't have that injury again. He is dejected on the sideline.<\/p>\n

"I hope it's not Lisfranc fracture. I've had one of those previously and they are really hard to come back from. That's four or five months with a screw put through."<\/p>\n

Newly-appointed Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt was in attendance for the match in Canberra to observe players ahead of selection in the coming months.<\/p>\n

"With Joe Schmidt, the Wallabies coach, here tonight, that's a big blow for not just Angus Bell but the Wallabies moving forward," Horan added.<\/p>\n

"Hopefully it's not season-ending."<\/p>\n

It's a brutal blow for Bell who suffered a foot injury late in 2022 and missed the 2023 Super Rugby Pacific season.<\/p>\n

\ufeffBell returned to the Wallabies fold where he played in Eddie Jones' ill-fated Rugby World Cup campaign.<\/p>\n

The Waratahs were solid even without Bell but ultimately couldn't hold back the Brumbies who streaked out to a 40-16 win.<\/p>\n

It was a tight contest initially as the two teams traded penalty kicks before the Brumbies edged ahead.<\/p>\n

A Harrison Goddard try just before half-time gave them a 16-6 lead going into the break.<\/p>\n

The Brumbies scored three more tries through Rob Valetini, Corey Tooel, and Charlie Cale.<\/p>\n
