Broncos<\/a> fullback Reece Walsh<\/a> has opened up on the struggles troubling his junior club, the Nerang Roosters.<\/p>\n

The club \u2014 which Walsh declared helped shape him into who he is today \u2014 is under intense financial stress, with fears they could fold if no solution is found.<\/p>\n

After visiting the community, Walsh has issued a call to arms from the broader NRL<\/a> community to lend a hand.<\/p>\n

"The club's going through a bit of a tough patch at the moment, some financial stuff\ufeff," Walsh told 9News' Emma Lawrence.<\/p>\n

"I thought it's only right for me to get back down here, show face, give a helping hand where I can, and shine a light on the kids, the community and the amazing club that it is."<\/p>\n

Walsh reflected on what the club has done for his success at the top level.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"My whole childhood revolves around this club: my family, my old man, my siblings, my cousins. Every week we were down here after school. It had that real family vibe," he said.<\/p>\n

"I am who I am today because of the club."\ufeff<\/p>\n

The club and Walsh's family are inextricably linked with his father, siblings, uncles and cousins all involved from the start of his career.<\/p>\n

With this in mind, \ufeffWalsh stated that a big reason why he returned to the club was to preserve it as a pillar in his young daughter's life.<\/p>\n

"Seeing my little one run around \ufeffon the field and kicking the footy around, she doesn't know what's going on or what's happening around the club, or with the community," he said.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffShe just cares about being the loudest on the field and kicking the footy. So, to see her enjoying herself with her uncles and her cousins, and her nan and her pop, is a big part of why I felt it was something I had to do. I had to come back and help out."<\/p>\n

Walsh also made a plea before his Broncos went down 34-32 at the hands of the Storm<\/a> \ufeffat AAMI Park on Thursday night.<\/p>\n

"My local junior club are going through a bit of a tough patch at the moment. I'm just trying to help out as much as I can," he said.<\/p>\n

"If anyone's out there that can help a hand\ufeff, give a hand to young kids, we'd really appreciate it."<\/p>\n

Walsh \ufeffis currently sidelined after he suffered a facial fracture<\/a> during the Broncos' round three loss to the Panthers.<\/p>\n

He is not expected to return \ufeffuntil for another few weeks.<\/p>\n
