A\ufeff veteran Australian boxer<\/a> has offered to step in to replace Mike Tyson<\/a> and fight YouTube upstart Jake Paul<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Heavyweight boxing icon Tyson, \ufeff57, last month revealed plans to fight 27-year-old Paul<\/a> on a Netflix-run card on July 21.<\/p>\n

But Tyson – once considered the most feared boxer on the planet – has to get medically cleared for the bout, even though he says it's only classed as an exhibition.<\/p>\n

There will be no title on the line and it won't be sanctioned by any of the sport's official bodies.<\/p>\n

There's been rumours Tyson may need to wear head gear, as seen in amateur boxing events like the Olympics.<\/p>\n

Those claims have been dismissed by the Paul camp, although it's believed thicker gloves and shortened two-minute rounds will be utilised in an effort to minimise damage to either fighter.<\/p>\n

\ufeffIt's also reported there will be no ringside judges, meaning unless there is a knockout there will be no winner declared from the bout.<\/p>\n

Still, it remains to be seen whether Tyson will be allowed to even step in the ring with the man more than half his age.<\/p>\n

And if he's not, Cameroon-born Aussie fighter Sakio Bika has offered to fill the void.<\/p>\n

Bika, 44, once held the IBO and WBC super middleweight world titles, but has fought only once in the last seven years.<\/p>\n

"At the moment, I am staying in shape and ready if the right offer comes my way," Bika told World Boxing News this week.<\/p>\n

"I have reached the top of the sport, becoming a multiple-time world champion and winning the prestigious Contender series. I have nothing more to prove to anyone, but I would like to have one more big fight.<\/p>\n

"If someone like Jake Paul or his brother (Logan) would really like to test himself against a recent world champion, I am always ready to fight.<\/p>\n

"Mike Tyson is an all-time great boxer, he was a hero of mine growing up, and even though he looks in great shape, he is almost 60 years of age.<\/p>\n

"If Jake Paul is serious about fighting a former champion, look for someone a lot younger or active within the last decade. I can fight Jake Paul at any weight he wants."\ufeff<\/p>\n

When the Netflix fight was announced last month, Paul was accused of being "shameless" for using Tyson's profile to effectively score a monster payday.<\/p>\n
