Netball Australia<\/a> is investigating an allegedly anti-trans \ufeffsocial media post by Swifts<\/a> star Sam Wallace-Joseph.<\/p>\n

The governing body was reportedly set to meet with the \ufeffgoal shooter on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Wallace-Joseph \ufeffposted to her Instagram account a screenshot of a story about US president Joe Biden declaring March 31 the Transgender Day of Visibility.<\/p>\n

Biden's decision was met with pushback in America, and moreso given this year it fell on Easter Sunday\ufeff.<\/p>\n

Wallace-Joseph posted the picture along with her own caption reading, "The disrespect is crazy, don't play with GOD".<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe Swifts then released a statement saying the "views expressed in the post are not shared by the club… (and we are) committed to ongoing education of issues of social importance and commentary".<\/p>\n

Netball Australia later \ufeffconfirmed it was investigating the post.<\/p>\n

"Late yesterday the Suncorp Super Netball League became aware of a social media post by NSW Swifts player Samantha Wallace-Joseph which caused hurt to members of the transgender community," a statement said.<\/p>\n

"Netball Australia and the Suncorp Super Netball League are committed to embracing diversity and ensuring the sport is welcoming and safe for everyone who wants to participate, including members of the LGBTIQA+ community.<\/p>\n

"The Suncorp Super Netball League is closely working with the NSW Swifts in relation to the sport's code of conduct."<\/p>\n

Wallace-Joseph, 30, is a Trinidad and Tobago international netballer and was the Swifts' leading goal scorer in 2021.<\/p>\n
