C\ufeffanterbury<\/a> will be without young star Jacob Preston for at least the next few weeks, after scans revealed the back-rower suffered a broken jaw on Good Friday.<\/p>\n

Preston was taken from the field in the second half following a heavy collision with South Sydney<\/a> prop Shaquai Mitchell, but returned to the surprise of many 20 minutes later after passing his head injury assessment.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old had been laying motionless as Bulldogs trainers attended to him on the field, but Preston was cleared of a concussion after heading up the tunnel and returned to the field for the business-end of the 20-16 loss at Accor Stadium.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHowever, according to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a>, Preston is facing three weeks on the sidelines in another setback for the Dogs, with X-rays on Saturday morning discovering a hairline fracture in his jaw.<\/p>\n

"It's another indication of Jacob's willingness to never let down his teammates or the Bulldogs jersey," head coach Cameron Ciraldo told the Herald. <\/p>\n

"He made a decision that he was going to push through the pain with an injury that we only learned the full extent of on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

"It says a lot about the character Jacob has and what we love about him."<\/p>\n
