Cowboys co-captain T\ufeffom Dearden<\/a> has produced a Scott Sattler-like moment after running down Selwyn Cobbo<\/a> with an epic try-saver in the Broncos' 38-12 victory<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cobbo \ufeffintercepted a Scott Drinkwater pass on their tryline before he was tackled into touch by Dearden right before scoring.<\/p>\n

Originally his effort was awarded a try before the Bunker called it a no try. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"Tackle of the century, Tom Dearden, take a bow," commentator Peter Psaltis said on Nine. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWhat a tackle … what an effort," Cameron Smith added while Paul Vautin was equally as complimentary.<\/p>\n

"That's as good as I've seen in a long, long time," he said.<\/p>\n

"… He was the only one chasing and he didn't catch him because of his speed, he caught him because of his courage and tenacity, that's all it was. It plays a big part in rugby league."<\/p>\n

Dearden's effort was made even more impressive by the fact he ran from the other side of the field to chase down the centre with Broncos legend Darren Lockyer saying "he's just all heart".<\/p>\n

Post-match, the Cowboys five-eighth explained his plan was simple in attempting to run down Cobbo. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI was coming from the other side of the field but I just thought if I run for the corner post I might be a chance," he told Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

"He's pretty fast \ufeffbut I think he was only going in cruise mode so he may have gave me a chance to get him."<\/p>\n

After an inconsistent start to the season, the Broncos started strong when Billy Walters and Jesse Arthars went over.<\/p>\n

Valentine Holmes hit back for the Cowboys as both sides went try for try with Kotoni Staggs and Drinkwater going over as the Broncos led 20-12 at half-time.<\/p>\n

Brisbane came out fast in the second half, although their first try after the break was denied by Dearden's tackle.<\/p>\n

However, the half's good work was undone by some lazy Cowboys defence in the middle when Tyson Smoothy strolled through for his first career try in the 53rd minute.<\/p>\n
