T\ufeffhe Matildas<\/a> have been hit with more injury news four months out from the Olympic Games<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Midfield veteran Katrina Gorry announced her Women's Premier League season is over after\ufeff injuring her ankle during a game for West Ham.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old limped off the field in the 21st minute against Chelsea and has now confirmed she won't be back for the Hammers this campaign.<\/p>\n

"Now it's time to face this next challenge and trust in my body to come back stronger and more in love with the game."<\/p>\n

Gorry has been ruled out of Australia's looming friendly against Mexico.<\/p>\n

Superstar striker and captain Sam Kerr is out with a serious knee injury and is all but certain to miss the Olympics.<\/p>\n

Clare Hunt and Courtney Nevin also sit in the casualty ward, and are racing the clock to be on the plane to Paris.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe Matildas have never won an Olympic medal but are considered a strong chance this time around after narrowly missing the podium at last year's World Cup.<\/p>\n

Their Olympic campaign begins on July 26 against Germany.<\/p>\n
