Brisbane<\/a> skipper Adam Reynolds<\/a> has revealed young playmaker Ezra Mam is determined to wear the Broncos' No.7 jersey long-term and develop into a leader on the field.<\/p>\n

As Mam's partner in the halves, Reynolds\ufeff sees potential for the 21-year-old to one day direct the team's play.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffHe's so strong for a small fella, he's quick, he sees himself as long-term game manager \u2014 he wants to get into the No.7 when I retire," he told Wide World of Sports' \ufeffFreddy and the Eighth<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Reynolds is contracted until the end of 2025, having just inked an extension, with either Jock Madden or Mam likely to replace him once he retires.<\/p>\n

\"Ezra<\/p>\n

Reynolds was also full of praise for the 21-year-old's raw talent, power and hunger for self-improvement.<\/p>\n

"He's from a similar mould to \ufeffReece Walsh \u2014 an instinctive player who backs himself," he said.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffHe's continually asking questions \u2014 similar to Walshy \u2014 he wants to learn the game and be upskilled.<\/p>\n

"Obviously, we want \ufeffto see that instinctive side of him and get the ball in his hands and try to get him some open space because that's when he's at his best, and no doubt he'll learn the trade of the management side of the game in the near future."<\/p>\n

With Walsh reportedly set to sign on with the club long-term, Brisbane's premiership window may be open for years to come with Mam calling the shots in the future.<\/p>\n

Mam\ufeff cemented his spot as the club's first-choice five-eighth last season. With 18 tries in 2023, the Ipswich product equalled the NRL<\/a>'s record for the most tries in a season by a half.<\/p>\n

His three tries in the space of 10 minutes which propelled the Broncos to a 24-8 second-half lead in the 2023 grand final also affirmed his status as the most in-form No.6 in the competition.<\/p>\n

Last month, Mam re-signed with the Broncos<\/a> until the end of 2029.<\/p>\n
