P\ufeffanthers<\/a> winger Sunia Turuva proved why he's about to be a man in demand after scoring a hat-trick in his side's 22-16 win over the Roosters<\/a>, however Immortal Andrew Johns<\/a> has pleaded with him to stay put.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the premiers' important cross-town clash, The Sydney Morning Herald<\/em><\/a> reported that Turuva could be on the way out as the club continues its battle to retain several key stars.<\/p>\n

Turuva has been a consistent performer for the Panthers so far this season \u2014 finishing Thursday's match with three line breaks and four tackles to go with his three tries.<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old experienced a breakout year in 2023 and was rewarded with the Dally M Rookie of the Year honour.<\/p>\n

However, the report indicates his management will begin discussions with rival clubs after the Panthers recently tied up Izack Tago and Taylan May.<\/p>\n

The Panthers are said to want to keep the winger but negotiations have halted due to the club being unwilling to go beyond a $350,000-a-season offer because of salary cap pressures.<\/p>\n

The Fijian flyer could attract around \ufeff$500,000 if he were to take his talent to the open market.<\/p>\n

"If I was \ufeffTuruva, I wouldn't be leaving, put it that way," Johns told Nine's Thursday Night Knock Off<\/em>.<\/p>\n

"He's playing outside a pretty good backline.<\/p>\n

"It's easier to turn up to training when \ufeffyou're winning. I hope he doesn't leave."<\/p>\n

Post-match, Panthers coach Ivan Cleary declared he'd love to keep the winger but was coy on where the conversations are at with his contract.<\/p>\n

"I'm not too sure to be honest," he said in his press conference.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Turuva is off-contract at the end of this season.<\/p>\n
