The AFL<\/a> has issued a $20,000 suspended fine to the Western Bulldogs<\/a> after administrative errors were found in the club's 2022 AFLW<\/a> player payments submission.<\/p>\n

The fine relates to third-party agreements, with the club not having to pay the fine unless breaches are uncovered in the AFL or AFLW programs up to the end of the 2024 seasons.<\/p>\n

In a statement released by the AFL, it was revealed the errors were not considered significant.<\/p>\n

"These errors were identified in the ordinary course of audit procedures conducted by the AFL and were not considered material in nature with respect to value or intent," the statement read.<\/p>\n

The statement did not specify whether the breach from the Bulldogs occurred during the sixth or seventh season of 2022. \ufeff<\/p>\n

In season six the Bulldogs narrowly missed out on finals after a seventh-placed finish.<\/p>\n

The AFLW went from 14 clubs to 18 the next season.<\/p>\n

The Bulldogs finished seventh once again but this time made the finals. However, they were knocked out in an elimination match against Collingwood with the Magpies winning by five points. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
