A\ufeff horror week of injuries in the NRL<\/a> continued in bizarre fashion when a Canberra<\/a> young gun suffered bad burns to his arm.<\/p>\n

Albert Hopoate will miss the round four game against Cronulla on Sunday after a backyard barbecue accident.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old was reportedly at teammate Corey Harawira-Naera's house when a gas cannister next to the barbecue exploded.<\/p>\n

According to The Sydney Morning Herald<\/a> he asked coach Ricky Stuart if he could train the next day, but doctors advised him to take a week off.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"It's such an unfortunate incident," Stuart told the Herald.<\/p>\n

"Albert has been very consistent and solid for us with his performances at the start of the season. He won't be out for long.<\/p>\n

"The doc wants to make sure the burns properly recover. You don't want to risk him getting any further infection.<\/p>\n

"Albert was in today and wanted to train and do the session. Sometimes you need to pull players back and [protect] them from themselves."<\/p>\n

Hopoate's is just the latest in a long list of injuries to hit the NRL this week.<\/p>\n

Nathan Cleary, Mitchell Moses, Bryce Cartwright, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, Scott Sorensen, Dale Finucane, Toby Rudolf, Royce Hunt, Reece Walsh, Brendan Piakura, \ufeffLindsay Collins, Sandon Smith, Taine Tuaupiki, and Hopoate are other players to have been injured during or since round three started.<\/p>\n

They have all been ruled out of round four.\ufeff<\/p>\n
