B\ufeffilly Slater<\/a> has urged Brisbane<\/a> to snub boom youngster Selwyn Cobbo<\/a> for the vacant No.1 jersey this week.<\/p>\n

The Queensland legend instead wants Broncos coach Kevin Walters to pick Tristan Sailor at fullback following the injury to Reece Walsh<\/a> in round three.<\/p>\n

The superstar faces up to six weeks on the sideline, leaving Brisbane – and potentially Queensland – looking for a new fullback.<\/p>\n

Cobbo shifted from centre to fullback against the Panthers after Walsh left the field.<\/p>\n

\ufeffBut Slater wants the young gun to remain at centre for this week's game against the Cowboys.<\/p>\n

"Selwyn Cobbo has been training in the centres all pre-season, that's where they see his position this year," Slater told Nine's The<\/em> Billy Slater Podcast<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffTristan Sailor for me, most certainly. The performances Tristan produced last year when Reece was out through suspension and Origin, he was excellent, I thought he did really well.<\/p>\n

"By all reports he's started the season in the Queensland Cup in great style.<\/p>\n

"Reece will be back in a month, so I wouldn't be shifting it around too much.<\/p>\n

"He's a quality player, they kept him for a reason, they didn't let him go to the English Super League because of this exact situation."<\/p>\n

Sailor, 25, played four NRL games for the Broncos last year when replacing Walsh at fullback.<\/p>\n

While Cobbo has moved from the wing to centre this year, Phil Gould last week suggested his long-term position should be fullback for Brisbane, allowing Walsh to eventually move into five-eighth to partner fellow young gun Ezra Mam.<\/p>\n
