W\ufeffestern Australia<\/a> has claimed an extraordinary triple-double after winning the 2023\/24 Sheffield Shield<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Adam Voges' men were clinical against Tasmania<\/a>, winning by 377 runs to seal their third successive Shield title, to go with three consecutive Marsh One-Day Cups. It is the first time the feat has been achieved.<\/p>\n

The victory was sealed by a screamer from Joel Paris in the gully as \ufeffIain Carlisle handed Cameron Gannon a five-wicket haul.<\/p>\n

\ufeffTasmania had been set a mammoth 538 to win with four sessions remaining at the WACA after Western Australia dominated with the bat.<\/p>\n

The home side hit 347 in the first innings before Tasmania replied with 186.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHilton Cartwright's 94 helped his side score 376 in their second innings before Tasmania were bowled out for 160 late on day four.<\/p>\n

Gannon finished with 5-23 \ufeffto go with his 3-38 in the first innings.<\/p>\n

Off-spinner Corey Rocchiccioli starred too, taking 4-48 and 3-55.<\/p>\n

"You talk about great teams, WA cricket, this is a dynasty," former Test cricketer Steve O'Keefe said.<\/p>\n

"First team ever to go the \ufefftriple (win) in one-day cricket, now in Shield Cricket, the dominant force, it doesn't matter which players have stepped up … that last catch was an emphatic way to put a stamp on this match."\ufeff<\/p>\n

Western Australia captain Sam Whiteman finished player of the match after his 104 in the first innings. \ufeff<\/p>\n
