Manly<\/a> coach A\ufeffnthony Seibold<\/a> has reacted to the costly obstruction call against the Eels<\/a>, with his side suffering their first defeat of the year on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

In a see-sawing battle at CommBank Stadium, the visitors flew out to a 14-0 lead but allowed Parramatta back into the contest, with Mitchell Moses producing a quality performance in the halves to guide the hosts to a 28-24 victory.<\/p>\n

\ufeffHowever, the decision from the Bunker to overrule Tolu Koula's second-half try due to Luca Moretti being obstructed<\/a> by Jake Trbojevic proved to be the difference.<\/p>\n

Speaking to media post-game, Seibold admitted he wasn't happy with the decision, but also pointed out a number of other issues with the officiating.<\/p>\n

"I'm biased, so I thought it was a try," he said.<\/p>\n

"Again, it wasn't ruled a try and we had to keep fighting – we scored a try after that.<\/p>\n

"I need to be really careful what I say here, but I think the management of the game changed a little bit there after [Manly lead] 14-0.<\/p>\n

"I think they started to get some calls their way \u2026 they had a fair bit of possession and we were a little bit gassed there. I'm not sure why it changed, but some of the interpretations around the ruck did.<\/p>\n

"I'm not gonna go into it, but it seemed like the management of the game changed. You've got to adjust to that and the best teams can do that."<\/p>\n

Manly completed at just 71 per cent against their historic rivals, while also conceding nine penalties during a tough 80 minutes away from home.<\/p>\n

Sea Eagles skipper Daly Cherry-Evans<\/a> didn't have much of a problem with the Bunker's decision to deny Koula a four-pointer, but urged the NRL to remain consistent.<\/p>\n

"You understand the ruling – it's black and white – but those ones are really hard to watch," he said after the match.<\/p>\n

"That one is at the end of the scale. I don't think he was gonna get there, so fair play to him – he played to the rules, but consistency is the key in the NRL.<\/p>\n

"I'm not making those decisions and as it stands, that's just the way it goes."<\/p>\n
