Gold Coast<\/a>'s woes have gone from bad to worse after captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui<\/a> had to be assisted from the field in the second half against the Bulldogs<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The visitors were dominated at Belmore Oval, losing 32-0<\/a>, with the scoreline the same at the time of \ufefftheir captain's departure with a knee injury.<\/p>\n

The hulking State of Origin prop ran the ball hard into contact, with Max King falling on to his legs after initially going high.<\/p>\n

"It looks like King got the bumper bars and slid down into the legs there … he just gets twisted awkwardly by (Jacob) Preston over the top," Michael Ennis explained on Fox League.<\/p>\n

\ufeffFa'asuamaleaui stayed on the ground for a significant period before he was helped off by medical staff as he limped heavily.<\/p>\n

"They can't afford to lose Tino, the hope for the Titans given how poor \ufeffthey've been the (opening) matches this year is the return of (Jayden) Campbell who's playing Queensland Cup this afternoon, David Fifita the other, but they can ill afford to lose this bloke," Ennis added.<\/p>\n

"Tino is everything to the Gold Coast … it certainly hasn't been the afternoon the coach (Des Hasler) was looking for and all the players, and this is just devastating blow for the Gold Coast, he is such a good player."<\/p>\n

Footage during the final 10 minutes of the match and after full-time showed \ufeffFa'asuamaleaui still limping in the sheds.<\/p>\n

Post-match, Hasler confirmed it is a knee injury for \ufeff\ufeffFa'asuamaleaui.<\/p>\n

"At the moment that can range anywhere between MCL and ACL, once \ufeffwe get some confirmation around that through some scans we'll know a bit more. It didn't look good walking off did it?," he said. <\/p>\n

The Bulldogs started strong at home with tries to Preston and Viliame Kikau in the first half as they led 12-0.<\/p>\n

Canterbury's dominance went up a notch in the second half with Reed Mahoney, Jacob Kiraz, Connor Tracey and Blake Taaffe all scoring to secure the 32-0 victory.<\/p>\n

"An absolute demolition," Ennis described the result.<\/p>\n

With the Titans unable to score, it's the first time the Bulldogs have held an opponent to nil at Belmore since 1996.<\/p>\n

"It was pleasing to keep the other team to zero, it's very hard to do that in the NRL \u2026 we've focused really hard on our defence," Kikau told Fox League post-match.<\/p>\n
