Souths<\/a> coach Jason Demetriou<\/a> believes his side's 42-point drubbing at the hands of their arch rivals is the "lowest point of (his) career".<\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs never looked in the hunt against the Roosters<\/a>. They also made 14 errors and missed 33 tackles.<\/p>\n

But as pressure starts to mount on Demetriou, he's still "extremely confident" his troops can turn it around.<\/p>\n

"We can't look any further ahead than the review and the training this week," he said after the match.<\/p>\n

\"Rabbitohs<\/p>\n

"It's disappointing, it hurts and this is probably the lowest point of my career \u2013 but I know how we get out of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"We don't want to be in this position, but we need to accept the reality we are in and fight our way out of it. I know the group will get out of it."<\/p>\n

The Rabbitohs made several changes for the clash, including dropping halfback Lachlan Ilias for Dean Hawkins. Damien Cook was also benched.<\/p>\n

Demetriou said making further changes to the side wasn't necessarily the answer.<\/p>\n

"We brought Deano in, who I thought did a pretty good job for us and he will get better for having the run," he said.<\/p>\n

"Cookie came into the season under-done with a calf injury and it was a matter of trying to get the best out of him and get him running the footy again and getting some match fitness.<\/p>\n

"Other than that, it was a side as normal and Jack [Wighton] \u2026 will be better for that hit out."<\/p>\n

Cody Walker said on Nine's coverage the Rabbitohs arrived at Allianz Stadium motivated to lift for Cameron Murray's 150th NRL clash.<\/p>\n

"A lot of us didn't turn up," he said.<\/p>\n

"We can't fault the guys' efforts, we worked hard, but we gave up too many errors. I don't have much words to say at the moment."<\/p>\n

Walker said the group was in the middle of a "testing" time.<\/p>\n

"Internally we are alright \u2026 we're not where we want to be at 0-3, but I can assure you we are working hard."<\/p>\n

Demetriou said he has "no doubt" he's the man to take the Rabbitohs back to form.<\/p>\n

"I've been with this group for a long time, I understand this group and I'm confident that we're on the same page and working together," he said.<\/p>\n

"I've got no doubt I'm the man to do that, but ultimately what I sit here and say makes no difference.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"The only thing that is going to make a difference is to get our training right, get our performance right next week and get some results on the board."<\/p>\n
