Jakara Anthony<\/a> had just wrapped up\ufeff the greatest season by a mogul skier<\/a> in history when a nervy challenge \u2014 a "juggling act", as the Australian superstar describes it \u2014 presented itself.<\/p>\n

Below the 25-year-old's beaming smile were three shiny, bulbous treasures \u2014 two were small and the other big \u2014 nestled in her arms.<\/p>\n

"They are crazy heavy, especially that big one," Anthony tells Wide World of Sports.<\/p>\n

The Olympic gold medallist had just captured all three crystal globes, as they're officially known\ufeff, having won the single, dual and overall 2023-24 mogul titles.<\/p>\n

Her new challenge?\ufeff Not dropping them.<\/p>\n

Anthony closed out her World Cup<\/a> campaign last weekend with a dual mogul\ufeff victory in the Italian commune of Valmalenco, taking her tally of season wins to 14.<\/p>\n

When the season began, the record for most mogul wins in a season was 11\ufeff, set by American legend Hannah Kearney in the 2011-12 season.<\/p>\n

Anthony arrived home at Victoria's Barwon Heads this week, still struggling to believe her record-breaking season and relieved\ufeff to know that all three crystal globes were still in one piece.<\/p>\n

Her collection of crystal globes grew from three to six. The big one is 7.4 kilograms and the small ones 3.2. Anthony says her crystal globes "hang out" on a benchtop in her family's Barwon Heads home.<\/p>\n

"Your arms get pretty sore holding them up for so long," she says.<\/p>\n

"It's a fair juggling act.\ufeff It was pretty precarious [holding them for photos in Italy]. I was just hoping I didn't drop any and smash them before I even got the chance to take them home.<\/p>\n

\"Jakara<\/p>\n

"They're super special, those crystal globes. They're pretty hard to come by. You've got to be super consistent all season; you can't just nail one event and jag one. It's got to be that total of the whole season. I'm super proud to come away with three of them from the season."<\/p>\n

\ufeffAnthony won 14 of 16 mogul events in the 2023-24 season, grabbing seven wins in the singles and seven in the duals, in which two skiers tear down the mountain at the same time, hammering over bumps and performing tricks off air bumps.<\/p>\n

The single and dual mogul standings are combined to determine the winner of the overall title.<\/p>\n

Dual moguls will be introduced to the Olympics at the next edition of the Winter Games, Milano-Cortina 2026.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt's still pretty hard to comprehend just how big the season was," says Anthony, who learned her craft at Victoria's Mount Buller.<\/p>\n

"I think of it in relation to how I thought of the skiers that were achieving maybe similar things to what I did when I was growing up and how I absolutely idolised them, so to be in that position now is super cool.<\/p>\n

"But I'm not sure I quite understand just how big this season was yet … It's definitely hard to fathom. To have the most wins in a season out of any moguls skier ever \u2014 it's such a phenomenal achievement and something I'm super proud that me and my team were able to achieve."<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
