B\ufeffrisbane Lions<\/a> coach Chris Fagan<\/a> will face the Human Rights Commission in Melbourne on Tuesday and Wednesday to hear from former Hawthorn players regarding racism claims made in 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In June last year, \ufefffour-time Hawthorn premiership forward Cyril Rioli<\/a>, alongside his wife Shannyn Ahsam-Rioli, ex-Hawthorn players Carl Peterson and Jermaine Miller-Lewis, as well as the latter's wife Montanah Miller-Lewis, and former Hawks staffer Leon Egan removed their cloaks of anonymity as they released a blistering statement summarising their allegations against the club.<\/p>\n

It came just days after the AFL closed its investigation into allegations of racism<\/a> against Clarkson, Fagan and Jason Burt, with the governing body announcing no adverse findings.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Now, in a fresh twist, the Lions coach will be forced to fly down to Melbourne two days before his side's round three clash against Collingwood at the MCG, to face the commission.<\/p>\n

However, leading AFL journalist Damien Barrett confirmed that Fagan\ufeff is ready and has "wanted" to be called upon.<\/p>\n

"Timeline event which is worth noting here, Chris Fagan will, next Tuesday and Wednesday, (be) available\ufeff to appear at a concilliation\/mediation session in the Human Rights Commision, over the Hawthorn racism allegations," Barrett said on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> on Wednesday night.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He willingly has sought and wanted this day to arrive.<\/p>\n

"He needs to go through the Human Rights Commission and hear what Cyril Rioli and others have said.<\/p>\n

"He wants it and feels he needs to (go)."<\/p>\n

The letter \ufeffpenned from the alleged victims in June 2023 stated that they are ready to take Clarkson, Fagan and Burt to the commission to ensure they feel their grievances are properly heard.<\/p>\n

"They have made their choice, and we will now bring them to a Human Rights Commission conciliation to listen to the truths that they don't want to hear," the statement from Rioli and some former teammates read.<\/p>\n

"And if they still won't listen and learn then it will end up in the federal court where we will tell our truths in the witness box. But they will hear us one way or another.<\/p>\n

"We also believe that with the passing of time that the Hawthorn Football Club will acknowledge that our suffering and pain was real."<\/p>\n
