League greats Wally Lewis<\/a> and Darren Lockyer<\/a> have called for the Dally M voting system<\/a> to be reverted back to its previous process after controversy across the opening two rounds.<\/p>\n

The Dally M changed from one judge to two last year and has come under significant criticism after Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow earned a point in round one after the Dolphins lost 43-18 to the Cowboys.<\/p>\n

This week, Panthers legend Greg Alexander revealed he was a judge<\/a> despite the role's anonymous status but described the system as "all over the place".<\/p>\n

Lockyer believes the process needs to be simplified and \ufefflikened it to a similar shake-up the NRL committed to in recent years.<\/p>\n

"I think the game's improved since we've gone back to one referee and I feel like this is the same thing, we've gone two judges for one game. Let's simplify it, keep it simple," he said on Wide World of Sports' QLDER<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

"What you throw in is when you publish the votes (the conjecture is) 'how does one person see that and the other person sees this?'.<\/p>\n

"It just brings up a lot of negative discussion. They've tried it and I thought the old system was fine."<\/p>\n

Queensland Maroons legend Wally Lewis agreed, adding he thought the previous system "was working well".<\/p>\n

"Obviously it just shows that \ufeffwe all think differently and there's not too many that have identical thoughts about a game in the voting," he said.<\/p>\n

"It's a little bit strange.<\/p>\n

"Will it last? I think that's probably the question, will they continue it next year? Probably at the end of the year there'll be a bit of a discussion on was that the right thing to do? If not, let's change it."<\/p>\n

Currently Nicho Hynes sits atop the leaderboard with 12 votes, \ufeffwhile star fullbacks Ryan Papenhuyzen and Tom Trbojevic sit behind him with 9 each.<\/p>\n
