H\ufeffawthorn<\/a>'s injury worries have continued to worsen, with young midfielder Will Day ruled out for up to five more weeks.<\/p>\n

Day has been sidelined since January with a stress fracture in his foot.<\/p>\n

He has been unable to play alongside a plethora of other young stars<\/a>, including new recruit Will McCabe (bone stress in back), Changkuoth Jiath with a hamstring injury, James Blanck (ACL) and Denver Grainger-Barras with toe problems.\ufeff<\/p>\n

However, the club has provided a positive update on Day's return to running.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"He had a bone scan that absolutely gave us confirmation that the healing is excellent," high performance boss Peter Burge said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

"We can now progress Will to running outside at full body weight on grass, then into conditioning before resuming to football training with an aim for match play at round seven."<\/p>\n

Day will still likely miss games against Melbourne, Geelong, Collingwood, Gold Coast and North Melbourne.<\/p>\n

In some good news for the Hawks, skipper James Sicily's one match ban for kicking Essendon's Andrew McGrath has been downgraded<\/a> to a fine on $2500.\ufeff<\/p>\n
