There's been an escalation in the war between former Melbourne president Glen Bartlett and senior figures at the club.<\/p>\n

Bartlett, who quit as president in April 2021, months before Simon Goodwin coached the Demons to a drought-breaking premiership, is in court to argue his defamation case against current club leaders.<\/p>\n

The court battle has resurfaced against current president Kate Roffey, with Bartlett in court in Perth on Tuesday.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Bart\ufefflett is arguing that his case should be officially heard in the Federal Court.<\/p>\n

"Former (Demons) president Glen Bartlett\ufeff is arguing his defamation case against current president Kate Roffey and others should be heard in the Federal Court," 9News Melbourne's Tom Morris reported on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

"If granted, this would be yet another destabilising move for the Demons and their senior leaders."<\/p>\n

9News understands that those senior leaders will be named alongside Roffey if the case is to reach the Federal Court.<\/p>\n

"Bartlett claims the Federal Court is the appropriate venue because his national reputation has been damaged," Morris said.<\/p>\n

Bartlett spoke to 9News before entering the court room on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

"Yeah, all good, just starting the process," he told 9News.<\/p>\n

"There's a lot more to play out."<\/p>\n
