Kane Cornes<\/a> has alerted oppositions teams to take note of how Essendon picked apart Hawthorn<\/a> captain James Sicily<\/a>'s game on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Sicily was reduced to just 11 disposals in Hawthorn\ufeff's 24-point loss to the Bombers<\/a> at the MCG, while also being slapped with a one match ban for kicking Essendon's Andrew McGrath in a melee<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Hawthorn has confirmed they will challenge Sicily's \ufeffsuspension, with his Tribunal hearing to take place on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

As the \ufeffBombers<\/a> celebrated Matt Guelfi's goal in the first term, Sicily proceeded to hip-and-shoulder McGrath.<\/p>\n

Sicily then kicked McGrath, causing him to flip and land on his back before teammates came to his aid.<\/p>\n

The Hawks leader's action was graded as intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact.<\/p>\n

Cornes says Sicily played right into Essendon's game plan to quell his impact, swarming him around the ball in their forward 50 from the first minute of the fiery clash.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"The point is, excellent coaching strategy from Brad (Scott) to go after a susceptible player (Sicily)," Cornes said on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> on Monday night.<\/p>\n

The Port Adelaide champion believes the Bombers were in Sicily's head, causing him to blow up and likely cost himself a week on the sidelines.<\/p>\n

"This guy (Sicily) averages 26 touches for a game\ufeff, he's an All-Australian last year. He's now had 11 (disposals), got reported and had two (goals) kicked on him," Cornes said.<\/p>\n

"Hopefully the other teams have seen that and for him (Sicily), bad luck, you're going to cop that treatment all year\ufeff."<\/p>\n

There are now fears that Sicily is going back to his old ways, which included a plethora of angry on field outbursts.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"They said before the game he was a changed man," Caroline Wilson said.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Last season, Sicily failed in his bid to overturn a three-match ban handed down to him after a dangerous tackle on Brisbane's Hugh McCluggage that left him concussed.<\/p>\n
