{"id":37717,"date":"2021-02-23T07:47:40","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T08:47:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=37717"},"modified":"2021-02-23T09:13:14","modified_gmt":"2021-02-23T09:13:14","slug":"the-hundred-to-start-with-womens-fixture-on-july-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sportinfo.pro\/?p=37717","title":{"rendered":"\u2018The Hundred\u2019 to start with women\u2019s fixture on July 21"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin: 5px 5% 10px 5%\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/arysports.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/The-Hundred.jpg\" width=\"742\" height=\"486\" title=\"\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>London: The schedule has been announced of England&#8217;s new cricket tournament &#8216;The Hundred&#8217; as the Oval will host opening fixture between Oval Invincibles and Manchester in a standalone women\u2019s match on July 21 while men&#8217;s tournament will start on July 22.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After the opening two matches, the rest of the schedule will see the men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams both playing on the same day, at the same venue, with the ambition to elevate women\u2019s cricket through The Hundred<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, men\u2019s Draft picks and new signings for all eight women\u2019s sides to be announced across the day today.<\/p>\n<p>Lord&#8217;s will host the final (men\u2019s and women\u2019s) with competition&#8217;s Eliminator taking place the day before at the Oval.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Read:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/arysports.tv\/london-spirit-retains-amir-maiden-the-hundred\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">London Spirit retains Amir for maiden \u2018The Hundred\u2019 this year<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It will be the first time a major UK team sporting event has launched men\u2019s and women\u2019s competitions alongside each other and headlined with a women\u2019s match.<\/p>\n<p>Eight city-based teams Birmingham, Cardiff, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Southampton and two in London will take part in the competition.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Here are some of the key fixtures<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In the opening weekend (24-25 July), Trent Rockets host Southern Brave, Northern Superchargers play Welsh Fire and London Spirit take on Oval Invincibles in the first derby of The Hundred<\/p>\n<p>Manchester Originals face Northern Superchargers at Old Trafford on 28 July with the reverse fixture on 12 August<\/p>\n<p>Birmingham Phoenix welcome Trent Rockets to Edgbaston on 1 August<\/p>\n<p>The group fixtures end on 18 August with London Spirit traveling to Cardiff to take on Welsh Fire.<\/p>\n<p>The teams finishing second and third in the league stage will meet each other at the Kia Oval in The Hundred Eliminator on Friday 20 August to compete for a place in The Hundred Final against the league winners.
