League legends Mark Geyer and Paul Gallen have suggested Latrell Mitchell<\/a> \ufeffwas trying to make a point by swearing multiple times during a live radio interview<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mitchell dropped several swear words into an interview with Triple M immediately after the Rabbitohs lost to the Broncos at Suncorp Stadium<\/a> on Thursday.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIt's all right mate, honestly, f—, it was shit in the first bit, just a hard game," Mitchell said.<\/p>\n

"F—ing showed what we're about… I don't care if I'm swearing boys, honestly."<\/p>\n

NRL boss Andrew Abdo confirmed on Sunday the league wouldn't sanction Mitchell officially, but he wants a word with the Rabbitohs star.\ufeff<\/p>\n

In his weekly column for \ufeffWide World of Sports<\/a>, Gallen said it "seemed like Latrell was doing it intentionally".<\/p>\n

That's an opinion shared by Penrith legend Geyer, who believes the South Sydney fullback \ufeffwas trying to rankle someone up high.<\/p>\n

"I love a swear word, I don't mind saying it, I don't mind saying the F word, it never bothered me," Geyer told Triple M on Monday.<\/p>\n

"But to say it as many times as Latrell did in such a short interview… normally you see footballers in any code, the word comes out and they go 'oh sorry, it was in the heat of the moment'.<\/p>\n

"I think it was a bit of an up-yours to the hierarchy, to be honest.<\/p>\n

"I've never seen or heard anyone with so many expletives in such a short interview. I don't think that was a mistake.<\/p>\n

"He should have at least copped a fine.<\/p>\n

"Whether he likes it or not he's a role model… a lot of kids on the weekend would have gone out and unfortunately started swearing their heads off because Latrell did it.\ufeff"<\/p>\n

Mitchell's R-rated interview has divided the game, with Sharks player Toby Rudolf defending his rival on Nine's The Sunday Footy Show<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe NRL also opted not to sanction Mitchell a week earlier for his demand the judiciary suspend Spencer Leniu<\/a> for more than half the season.<\/p>\n
