The Sydney Roosters<\/a> have been dealt a concerning blow ahead of their South Sydney blockbuster, with Luke Keary<\/a> leaving the field late against Manly<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Keary has had a troubled history with concussions throughout his career and went off a head injury assessment after colliding with the knee of Tom Trbojevic.<\/p>\n

It was a bitter blow for the Roosters with Manly winning the match 21-14<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Keary chased through on a Dom Young kick with five minutes to go but couldn't pick it up cleanly.<\/p>\n

Tom Trbojevic in his attempt to challenge, collected Keary who stayed down for a significant period of time. The Manly fullback signalled to the bench straight away with his hand up.<\/p>\n

"He's had a history of head knocks and last year (having) \ufeffpreviously never played in headgear and donned the headgear in round one," Andrew Johns said on Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

"… Now with the short turnaround they've got Souths on Friday night you'd imagine he may miss \ufeffthe game on Friday.<\/p>\n

Sunday afternoon's match at Brookvale Oval started strong for Manly when Lachlan Croker scored inside six minutes. Daniel Tupou hit back moments later to make it 6-4 Manly's way.<\/p>\n

A try-for-try affair continued when Tolutau Koula and James Tedesco both went over with the home side leading 12-10 at half-time after a penalty goal to Manly.<\/p>\n

Tommy Talau scored straight after the break to extend the lead. Dom Young would score the final try when he ran the length of the field, attempting an intercept before batting it in the air. Tedesco grabbed the ball and ran a short distance before passing to Young who ran away and avoided a valiant effort from Reuben Garrick.<\/p>\n

Garrick kicked another penalty goal in the 62nd minute before Daly Cherry-Evans added one point late in the match to seal victory.<\/p>\n

It wasn't all good news for Manly though with Talau leaving the field with a dislocated ankle. \ufeffHaumole Olakau'atu also failed to play out the whole game, suffering a calf problem late in the game.<\/p>\n

Sitili Tupouniua was also put on report for the Roosters in the first half for a crusher tackle.<\/p>\n

Manly have now started the season unbeaten \ufeffand play the Eels next Sunday.<\/p>\n
