Tai Tuivasa<\/a>'s losing streak has continued after being submitted by Marcin Tybura in the main event of Sunday's UFC<\/a> event in Las Vegas. \ufeff<\/p>\n

T\ufeffhe cult hero walked out to "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield, continuing his quality streak of fun walkout music, but it was all business as soon as the bell rang.<\/p>\n

Tuivasa cut his opponent open inside the first minute with a series of brutal elbow strikes, \ufeffbut was taken down later in the first round and looked in real danger.<\/p>\n

After battling through a plethora of heavy punches on the ground, Tuivasa was eventually trapped in a rear-naked choke by Tybura and passed out, forcing the referee to call a stop to the fight with less than a minute remaining in the opening round. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The win for Tybura should see him rise above Tuivasa in the heavyweight rankings, \ufeffwhile the Aussie now faces an uncertain future and appears likely to drop outside the top 10.<\/p>\n

It's been a rollercoaster career for the western Sydney local in the UFC, \ufeffwho rose near the top of the division with five-straight wins between 2020 and 2022, but his last four losing efforts have seen Tuivasa's stocks plummet and fall out of title contention.<\/p>\n

After a huge knockout win over Derrick Lewis just over two years ago, Tuivasa appeared destined for a shot at the gold, but his stoppage loss to Ciyrl Gane later that year\ufeff halted his momentum and it has been all heartache in the three fights that have followed.<\/p>\n

Earlier on the card, Ovince Saint Preux overcame Kennedy Nzechukwu in a three-round light heavyweight bout, while Bryan Brattle and Ange Loosa finished in a draw.<\/p>\n
