Coventry City manager Mark Robins was slammed by a rival coach for celebrating in the face of a 13-year-old ballboy at the end of a thrilling FA Cup<\/a> quarter-final.<\/p>\n

After his team scored in the 10th minute of stoppage time to secure a 3-2 victory over Wolverhampton, Robins ran over to the ballboy and crouched towards him before celebrating and fist pumping directly at him.<\/p>\n

Robins offered an unprompted apology for his behavior in his post-match press conference, claiming the ballboy had annoyed him before the late goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s a kid, at the end of the day,\u201d Robins said.<\/p>\n

"I have reacted. We scored the goal and I went and celebrated in front of him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI apologise to him … I don\u2019t show emotion very often but that is what the FA Cup does to you. I apologise to him unreservedly.\u201d<\/p>\n

The incident didn't go over well with Robins' opposing coach however, who took umbrage with the display in the dying stages.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was disappointed," Wolves boss Gary O\u2019Neil said.<\/p>\n

"I waited for Mark downstairs and spoke to him … he apologised, but to celebrate in a young boy\u2019s face like that I thought was disgusting. The boy is really upset.<\/p>\n

"It shouldn\u2019t happen. I don\u2019t have too much to say about it because we have lost and it\u2019s going to seem bitter, but I thought it was really important to speak to Mark about it.<\/p>\n

"They are just kids doing a job.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coventry booked a spot in the semi-finals with the dramatic victory, while Manchester City also advanced with a 2-0 win over Newcastle United.<\/p>\n
