Wests Tigers<\/a> half Jayden Sullivan has been slammed for a horrible brain fade in defence during the Raiders 32-12<\/a> win at Canberra.<\/p>\n

Right on half-time, centre Sebastian Kris proved too smart for his rivals after going down the short side from a penalty tap 30 metres out.<\/p>\n

Kris caught Sullivan napping in defence and passed to winger Xavier Savage who ran in untouched and scored.<\/p>\n

Queensland Maroons great Corey Parker<\/a> was not impressed. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"T\ufeffhis is park footy stuff, beautiful awareness from Seb Kris and Xavier Savage," he said on Fox League.<\/p>\n

"Bud Sullivan on the right-hand side just clocking off and straight away Seb Kris realised that. That is embarrassing."<\/p>\n

League icon Steve 'Blocker' Roach was also shocked by Sullivan's lapse in defence calling it a "soft try" and claiming "he was marking fresh air". \ufeff<\/p>\n

"You should be man on man there, what was Sullivan doing in field?," he said.<\/p>\n

With the Tigers down 24-12 with 25 minutes remaining, Sullivan was eventually substituted out of the game by coach Benji Marshall \ufeffas Aidan Sezer replaced him.<\/p>\n

Speaking post-match, Marshall explained Sezer's injection into the game.<\/p>\n

"I just said to Aidan [Sezer] before the game, 'There's no real plan for you, it's dependent on what we need' and at the point in the game, I thought we needed a bit of organisation and experience," he said.<\/p>\n

"It was a big ask for him to go on [when we're] down 12 points and turn that around and unfortunately, we couldn't get it done."<\/p>\n

The Marshall era was off to a shocking start when the Raiders went up \ufeff14-0 inside 14 minutes thanks to tries from Ethan Strange and Danny Levi and a penalty kick.<\/p>\n

The Tigers hit back through Samuela Fainu and Apisai Koroisau but the Raiders dominated the final exchanges to make it 24-12 at half-time. Jordan Rapana and Savage were the try-scorers.<\/p>\n

Twenty minutes into the second half the Raiders were up 32-12 with a penalty kick and try to Zac Hosking. The score stayed the same at full-time to give the Raiders a two-match unbeaten streak to start the season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
