Four days after the Wigan loss, Fowler and the Matildas notched up a thumping 10-0 win against Uzbekistan to book their spot at Paris 2024, with the young star among the goalscorers in an impressive performance. <\/p>\n

Speaking on Nine's post-match coverage after the Panthers broke their hoodoo with a 26-18 win over the Eels, Brad Fittler asked Cleary if he felt any extra pressure given Fowler is "such a winner".<\/p>\n

"I wish she was here, but she was showing me up for a while \u2013 we had two losses in a row," he said with a laugh.<\/p>\n

Cleary told the panel he and his teammates were just as hungry to win a fourth successive premiership as they had been for the previous three.<\/p>\n

"The three before this, they're done," he said.<\/p>\n

"They're memories we can look back on later in the future when we're retired and old and can tell our grandkids – but this is another competition. <\/p>\n

The fact we have won three before doesn't give us any extra points or advantage this year \u2013 maybe a bit of experience but it all starts again."<\/p>\n

Penrith were in control for much of the night, but the Eels were able to capitalise on errors to keep themselves in touch and lead into half time.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the visitors, back-to-back tries to Sunia Turuva and Izack Tago just shy of the hour mark sealed the deal.<\/p>\n
