A Texas high school football player who was killed this past weekend will be honored on Wednesday with a balloon release to remember his life.<\/p>\n
Jarvon Coles was shot and killed over the weekend during a drive-by shooting. The 18-year-old, who was a wide receiver at North Shore High School<\/a> (Houston, Texas), was attending a house party when a car pulled up and began shooting at the attendees.<\/p>\n After being taken to the hospital, Coles passed away. His funeral service will be held this Saturday.<\/a><\/p>\n Coles was a standout on and off the football field. He had a 4.1 GPA<\/a> and was an all-district linebacker.<\/p>\n The 18-year-old was planning to play college football this fall for Lamar University. One of North Shore’s assistant coaches, Kyle Herridge, raved about the impact of Coles, who was the definition of a student-athlete.<\/p>\n\n
