Cronulla Sharks<\/a> enforcer Briton Nikora could well be sent on a MRC-enforced holiday for a nasty hit on Viliame Kikau<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It soured an otherwise strong showing by the Sharks, who ran out 25-6 winners<\/a> over the Bulldogs<\/a> in a fiery encounter at Shark Park.<\/p>\n

Early in the first half \u2013 of which stoppages elongated to 53 minutes \u2013 Nikora was sent for a 10-minute spell for making contact with Kikau's head. There also appeared to be little wrapping motion.<\/p>\n

What made this incident even more odd was the fact it was initially missed by on-field referee Ziggy Przeklasa-Adamski. Bunker referee Adam Gee got in his ear in the next set and had him stop play.<\/p>\n

At half time for Fox Sports, James Graham said Nikora was probably lucky to not have been sent off.<\/p>\n

The tone of the match was set off the kick-off, when Bulldogs prop Poasa Faamausili was all but knocked out in a head-clash with Cam McInnes from the opening hit-up.<\/p>\n

Faamausili hit the deck immediately but managed to leave the field under his own steam, albeit nursing a golf ball-sized lump on his cheek. McInnes stayed on the field.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"This is really unfortunate for Faamausili," Graham said.<\/p>\n

"He's worked so hard in the off season to get himself a starting spot in the Canterbury front row."<\/p>\n

After several more flash points, Przeklasa-Adamski told Crichton and McInnes he wanted "no more shenanigans".<\/p>\n

The two sides hit the sheds at 6-all, although the Bulldogs had a try disallowed after the Bunker ruled Przeklasa-Adamski had got in the way of Braydon Trindall as Kikau crossed the line.<\/p>\n

The second half didn't have nearly as much niggle as the first. The Sharks scored three tries as the Bulldogs tired.<\/p>\n
