Eels<\/a> enforcer Kelma Tuilagi suffered a dislocated shoulder putting on the "tackle of the season" against the Panthers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His side ahead by two points early in the second half, Tuilagi came off his line and absolutely poleaxed the Panthers second-rower.<\/p>\n

"It's the tackle of the season \u2013 that could be the tackle of the decade," Nine caller Mat Thompson said.<\/p>\n

But it was immediately obvious Tuilagi was in pain. To make matters worse, the Panthers scored off the following plays while he was getting treatment to re-take the lead.<\/p>\n

Tuilagi came from the field, and Eels doctors confirmed they were able to reset the shoulder in the change rooms.<\/p>\n

Having trailed at the break, that was the first of back-to-back Panthers tries that put the match out of reach for the visitors. The Panthers held on for a 26-18 win.<\/a><\/p>\n

But it could yet come at a cost \u2013 James Fisher-Harris went up the race in the 24th minute with a shoulder injury and wasn't seen again.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Eels captain Clint Gutherson said it was that period that cost them a chance at victory.<\/p>\n

"We were right in it, but you can't make those mistakes against good teams \u2013 we gave them too much ball down here," he told Paul Gallen on Nine's coverage.<\/p>\n

"If you give Nathan (Cleary), Jarome (Luai) and (Isaah) Yeo that much time with the ball, they'll make you pay.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"(But) we kept turning up, we gave them too much, but we kept defending our line and played the footy we wanted to play.\u00a0<\/p>\n

"We probably missed two opportunities late to score and get back within two, and that's disappointing but we're building."<\/p>\n

The Eels were on the back foot early, Bailey Simonsson ruled out after failing a HIA ordered for a whack from Jarome Luai in the Eels' opening set of six.<\/p>\n

The hit landed Luai on report \u2013 the first of two for the Panthers No.6.<\/p>\n

The second was for a bizarre trip on Eels halfback Mitchell Moses. Luai raced out of the Panthers line to pressure Moses' kick, and more or less stuck a leg out when Moses danced around him.<\/p>\n

The loss of Simonsson and then Tuilagi forced the Eels into a major reshuffle.<\/p>\n

Gutherson said it was down to "just being tough".<\/p>\n

"It doesn't matter who goes where \u2026 whoever gets out there, you've just got to do a job," he said.<\/p>\n

"We did it for 70 minutes but that little period of five or six minutes, that's what ended up costing us the game."<\/p>\n
