The fallout from Brodie Kostecki's<\/a> feud with Erebus Motorsport<\/a> has continued following confirmation general manager Shannen Kiely will leave the winning Supercars team.<\/p>\n

Kiely joined the team in 2016 as its PR and media manager and was promoted to managing director in 2020.<\/p>\n

Erebus Motorsport has confirmed to Wide World of Sports Kiely will depart after the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix where Supercars will act as a support category.<\/p>\n

The team said she would be stepping away from the sport due to personal reasons.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Kiely is a highly respected member of the Supercars pit lane and is the partner of Triple Eight Race Engineering co-driver Scott Pye.<\/p>\n

Kiely's departure was noted by former Erebus sponsor Peter Adderton of Boost Mobile, who lauded her impact on the team.<\/p>\n

"Shannen was incredible at her job for those years we sponsored Erebus," Adderton wrote on social media.<\/p>\n

"She was an absolute professional and if I am to be honest one of the major reasons we stayed with Erebus was we were hoping she would eventually run the team.<\/p>\n

"I have zero doubt she will have any trouble finding a new gig. This is a huge blow to Erebus and Supercars as a whole."<\/p>\n

Two days before Kiely's departure was revealed by Speedcafe, Erebus Motorsport CEO Barry Ryan took to LinkedIn with a cryptic post.<\/p>\n

Ryan posted an image of Douglas Garland's book cover The Tall Poppy Syndrome, The Joy of Cutting Others Down.<\/p>\n

The Supercars team boss wrote: "Been a tough 2024 so far!! I was warned that our teams (sic) success would come at a cost!! I shrugged it off, but how wrong I was!!<\/p>\n

"Very proud of the unity and loyalty within our hard working crew\u2026.. 2023 Champions forever!!"<\/p>\n

Erebus posted an image of Kiely and other members of the team to its social media acknowledging International Women's Day on\u00a0March 8.<\/p>\n

Erebus sits sixth in the teams' championship after a lacklustre first hitout with Jack Le Brocq and Kostecki's stand-in replacement Todd Hazelwood.<\/p>\n

The team lost three of its biggest sponsors in the wake of Kostecki removing himself from the organisation.<\/p>\n

Coca-Cola Europacfic Partners, Shaw and Partners, and Southern Cross Truck Rentals all withdrew support for the team.<\/p>\n

Erebus Motorsport has not confirmed Kostecki has split with the team and the star driver remains tight-lipped about his status.<\/p>\n

It's expected Kostecki will not drive for the team this year. Erebus confirmed Hazelwood will contest the second round of the calendar in Melbourne on March 21-24.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
