Eels<\/a> halfback M\ufeffitchell Moses<\/a> believes he will be fit to play in Friday night's huge clash with the Panthers<\/a>, adding another chapter to his rivalry with Nathan Cleary<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The star playmaker suffered a groin injury in the opening round against the Bulldogs, but managed to battle through for the entire 80 minutes and steer his side to victory.<\/p>\n

Moses handed over the goalkicking to Clint Gutherson<\/a> and general play \ufeffduties to Dylan Brown<\/a>, but is expected to be available for the showdown with the reigning champions<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the 29-year-old shut down suggestions he would miss the round two match-up and is looking forward to an individual battle with Cleary – especially after the Penrith superstar's performance in last year's grand final.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"I pulled up a little bit sore, but I'll be right," Moses said.<\/p>\n

"I think it was a little bit of a carry on to be honest \u2026 it was a bit tight out there. It's more annoying – not really mentally, just annoying. It's fine, to be honest.<\/p>\n

"They are probably the best halves combination in the comp. If we can limit as much time as they have with the ball, it will definitely help us going a long way to win.<\/p>\n

"I haven't seen a halfback do that in that type of game ever. It was unbelievable and really good to watch – I've got big wraps on Nath, he is an unbelievable player.<\/p>\n

"They've been at the top for a long time – it's a good challenge for me and Dyl [Brown]."<\/p>\n

The regular-season record between the western Sydney rivals has gone the way of Parramatta, but when the stakes are the highest, Cleary and company have come out on top – including in the 2022 grand final.<\/p>\n

Moses knows the Eels have what it takes to trouble the Panthers, but acknowledged they needed to get it done in September and October for it to truly count.<\/p>\n

"They have got us in the main games that have mattered," he said.<\/p>\n

"That's the one that hurts the most and that's the only one that really mattered.<\/p>\n
