C\ufeffaroline Wilson<\/a> is confident Richmond<\/a> CEO Brendon Gale, who led the Tigers to three flags in four years, is headed to the AFL's 19th side, Tasmania, as early as next year.<\/p>\n

Gale played 244 games for Richmond before taking over as CEO from 2009.<\/p>\n

Wilson believes the 55-year-old will finish up at Tigerland\ufeff and join the upcoming Tasmania team, who will officially join the league at the start of the 2028 season.<\/p>\n

"My understanding is that Brendon's departure is imminent," Wilson said on Nine's Footy Classified<\/em> on Monday night.<\/p>\n

"I believe he will be CEO of Tasmania by the start of 2025.<\/p>\n

\"Richmond<\/p>\n

"Its an enormous co\ufeffup."<\/p>\n

Gale, who was born and raised in Tasmania, has already shown a keen interest in helping launch the new team, with talks well underway with key members on how to best utilise Gale's expertise.<\/p>\n

"The Tasmanian board, Grant O'Brien (Tasmania chairman), are very keen to get him on board at the start of next season," Wilson said.<\/p>\n

"They want a key man in charge, as do the AFL to run the list management three years out (from their first season)\ufeff."<\/p>\n

\"Tasmanian<\/p>\n

But, Gale will not be able to exit Richmond that easily, with the Tigers reportedly keen to elongate\ufeff his services in the yellow and black.<\/p>\n

"His contract clause says, I believe, he needs to give the club six months\ufeff notice to leave," Wilson said.<\/p>\n

"I think John O'Rourke \ufeff(Richmond board member) will try and convince Brendan to stay a little longer.<\/p>\n

\"Brendon<\/p>\n

"It's the best of three decades now at Richmond, 15 (years) as CEO, 12 as a player."<\/p>\n

\ufeffIt has now been confirmed that Monday, March 18\ufeff is the day that the league's newest club will unveil its name, logo, colours and jumper<\/a>.<\/p>\n
