A\ufeffndrew Johns<\/a> believes Wayne Bennett<\/a> will continue his NRL<\/a> coaching career in 2025, hinting at a potential move to the Eels or Rabbitohs next season.<\/p>\n

The legendary mentor will finish up at the Dolphins<\/a> at the end of this year, \ufeffhanding over the reins to assistant coach Kristian Woolf as part of a transition plan.<\/p>\n

Bennett was recently linked with the Kiwis head coaching role, ultimately missing out on the job to Stacey Jones<\/a>, but has expressed no desire to retire any time soon.<\/p>\n

Parramatta \ufeffand South Sydney will both enter the 2024 NRL campaign with plenty of eyeballs fixed on them after missing the finals last year, with both Brad Arthur and Jason Demetriou<\/a> desperate to turn their fortunes around.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Wide World of Sports' Immortal Behaviour<\/em><\/a> this week, Johns admitted both men were under growing pressure to keep their jobs with Bennett in the background.<\/p>\n

\ufeff"Yes – especially with Wayne Bennett finishing up at the Dolphins," he said.<\/p>\n

"Wayne hasn't got any hobbies, he doesn't surf, he doesn't play golf.<\/p>\n

"He will just coach until whenever and that is hanging over some clubs – both of those coaches are probably under a bit of pressure."<\/p>\n

After taking over from Bennett at Redfern in 2022, Demetriou took the Bunnies to a prelim final in his rookie year, but the wheels began to fall off towards the e\ufeffnd of last season, culminating with the early exit of club legend, Sam Burgess.<\/p>\n

And while Arthur is also in need of a turnaround, Johns believes there is more weight on Demetriou's shoulders given the proud history at the Rabbitohs. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"[I would rather be] Brad Arthur, because Souths are such a popular club and it seems like there is always some sort of drama or chit-chat about things going on," he said.<\/p>\n

"Their fans are so passionate, so I'd say Jason Demetriou [is under more pressure], especially with the way they finished last year.<\/p>\n

"They were coming second at one stage and they finished awful.<\/p>\n

"My heart goes out to Jason and to all coaches, it must be a bludger of a job."<\/p>\n
