Steve Smith<\/a> has dropped to a near 10-year low in the ICC<\/a> Test batting rankings \u2013 but he's still ranked No.3 in the world.<\/p>\n

Having struggled to find consistent form since the start of the Australian summer, Smith's Test batting points tally now sits on 789.<\/p>\n

It's the first time since 2014 his tally has dipped beneath 800.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Kane Williamson<\/a> (870), who is playing his 100th Test in the second match against Australia in Christchurch, sits comfortably on top from Joe Root<\/a> (799). Daryl Mitchell and Babar Azam round out the top five.<\/p>\n

Smith scored 31 and 0 in the first Test against the Black Caps, while Williamson also struggled with just nine runs for the match. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The Aussie star's ICC rankings peaked in 2018 when he hit 947 points to top the rankings after they won the first Test against South Africa in Durban.<\/p>\n

Two Tests later he was suspended following the ball-tampering scandal that rocked Aussie cricket.<\/p>\n

Smith is one of only two Aussies in the top 10 \u2013 Usman Khawaja sits sixth.<\/p>\n

Marnus Labuschagne's shocking run of form has seen him drop out of the 10 for the first time since December 2019.<\/p>\n

\"Head<\/p>\n

It marks an incredible fall from grace for the Aussie No.3. Labuschagne, who topped the rankings with a career-high 937 points following the day-night Test against the West Indies in Adelaide in December 2022.<\/p>\n

Barely 12 months later, he sits 13th \u2013 a place behind Travis Head. Cameron Green is 23rd, and Alex Carey is 50th.<\/p>\n

On the bowling side, the four Aussie frontline bowlers are all in the top 12.<\/p>\n

Josh Hazlewood (822), Pat Cummins (811) and Nathan Lyon (797) sit fourth, fifth and sixth, with Mitchell Starc (722) 12th.<\/p>\n
