Brisbane<\/a> captain Harris Andrews has revealed he's been "haunted all off-season" over a bizarre AFL<\/a> superstition.<\/p>\n

\ufeffThe Lions skipper took the honours of lifting the premiership cup before last year's grand final in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

Andrews got on stage and hoisted the coveted silverware alongside Collingwood<\/a> captain Darcy Moore.<\/p>\n

The following day the Lions came within a whisker of winning the flag, only for the Magpies to steal it in a thriller by four points.<\/p>\n

\ufeffFollowing the game Moore aimed a stinging allegation at Andrews, suggesting he lost his side the game before it even started.<\/p>\n

The superstition in question claims the skipper who takes his hand off the cup first at the pre-game event will typically lose the big dance.<\/p>\n

"It's haunted me all off-season to be honest," Andrews told Triple M Breakfast with Marto, Margaux and Dan this week.<\/p>\n

"Collingwood made a big deal about holding the cup, being the last one to get go of the cup at the grand final parade.<\/p>\n

"It was a little awkward up on the stage because we're sort of both standing there and I'm not really sure what's happening."<\/p>\n

Andrews put his hand up to hold the cup last year while his co-captain Lachie Neale took a back seat.<\/p>\n

But the tall defender won't be volunteering to do it next time.\ufeff<\/p>\n

"If I get to that situation again… and it'll probably be Lachie this time," he said.<\/p>\n
