P\ufeffatty Mills<\/a> has reportedly signed with the Miami Heat<\/a> for the rest of the NBA season, avoiding a dilemma for the Boomers ahead of Paris 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Aussie star was waived by Atlanta Hawks<\/a> last week \ufeffbut ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski has stated he'll now join the Heat and is eligible for the post-season roster.<\/p>\n

Mills' axing from the Hawks was set to present a problem for Boomers<\/a> coach Brian Goorjian after a disappointing 2023 FIBA World Cup campaign. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Miami currently sit seventh in the Eastern Conference but are still a massive chance of moving into the tour four ahead of the post-season.<\/p>\n

ESPN is reporting \ufeffthe deal is for the rest of the season.<\/p>\n

\ufeffFormer Boomer Chris Anstey had previously encouraged Mills to make the move to Europe after he was waived.<\/p>\n

"This could be a really interesting few months for Patty Mills," he wrote on X.<\/p>\n

"Taking a high level, high opportunity European contract to finish the European season could be the best preparation for his final Olympic Games."<\/p>\n

Mills ironically was part of the 2014 San Antonio Spurs side who defeated the Heat in the NBA finals.<\/p>\n

The Heat will be Mills' fifth NBA club having played for Portland Trail Blazers\ufeff, Spurs, Brooklyn Nets and the Hawks.<\/p>\n
