Roosters<\/a> prop Spencer Leniu is going to ground as he waits to face the NRL<\/a> judiciary.<\/p>\n

The firebrand had plenty to say at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday after allegedly calling Broncos player Ezra Mam a "monkey"<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Leniu gave an interview to 9News on the field following full-time in which he essentially invited Brisbane players to have it out with him at the teams' hotel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffYou know it's just a little bit of banter on the field, and whatever he wants to do… he can come see me after it if he wants," he said.<\/p>\n

"If they want to do anything we're staying in the same hotel so I'm right there."<\/p>\n

That invitation was accepted when Leniu later had a run-in with several Broncos players in the hotel corridor.<\/p>\n

But after being charged with contrary conduct by the NRL on Monday<\/a> it seems the front-rower is choosing his words more carefully.<\/p>\n

"I'm not allowed to comment on that right now," Leniu told 9News and other media after landing at Sydney airport on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

9News also caught up with Mam at Brisbane airport.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffI just want to say thankyou for the support," Mam said.<\/p>\n

The young five-eighth was reportedly in tears after Sunday's game due to the alleged comment from Leniu.<\/p>\n

Leniu has not directly responded to the claim he used the word "monkey" towards Mam, who is Indigenous.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Many are calling for a long suspension for the Roosters forward if the allegation is proven, with Latrell Mitchell demanding he be rubbed out for more than half the season<\/a>.\ufeff<\/p>\n

Australian \ufeffRugby League Commission chairman Peter V'landys says if Leniu is found guilty, he expects a heft penalty.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffWe want to make sure the player gets due process and natural justice," V'landys said, also at the airport.<\/p>\n

"But absolute zero tolerance on racism, we will not tolerate it, we never will.<\/p>\n

"\ufeffIf he does happen to (have said) something like that, he will be dealt with."<\/p>\n
