W\ufeffill Pucovski<\/a> has been forced to retire hurt after he was hit in the head again in a sickening sight.<\/p>\n

The Victorian youngster was struck in the helmet by a bouncer from Riley Meredith during the side's Sheffield Shield<\/a> match against Tasmania.<\/p>\n

Facing only his \ufeffsecond ball of Victoria's second innings, Pucovski attempted to duck away from the delivery but took his eye off the ball and seemed to be hit on the lower side of the helmet. <\/p>\n

Medical staff were immediately called out to the field with Pucovski laying down for a considerable period. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Tasmania's players looked on concerned along with umpires and his batting partner Marcus Harris. \ufeff<\/p>\n

Eventually Pucovski got to his feet but looked as if he'd vomit on many occasions.<\/p>\n

The one-Test star made his way off the field once he'd composed himself but didn't require much assistance as he walked from the ground. <\/p>\n

"It's a sickening feeling knowing what he's going through \ufeffbut good news is he walked off under his own steam," ABC cricket analyst Ric Finlay said on commentary. <\/p>\n

"… It puts a slightly different complexion on the game, a nasty incident like that."<\/p>\n

Fellow commentator Andrew Taylor agreed. <\/p>\n

"It just changes things, I think it puts a perspective on what actually matters in life … there's a young Australian cricketer that we all know has the talent and the skill to do it at the top level. To see him cop a blow like that is distressing," he said.<\/p>\n

It's a devastating result for Pucovski after he hit 131 in his previous first class match\ufeff against NSW<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Pucovski was also substituted out of a Second XI match in January<\/a> after a similar incident where he was struck on the helmet and retired hurt before returning later. <\/p>\n
