New Zealand Black Caps<\/a> star Kane Williamson<\/a> has been left red-faced after an embarrassing run out.<\/p>\n

W\ufeffilliamson came into the first innings against Australia at 1-12<\/a> after the visitors scored 383.<\/p>\n

On his second ball, the right-hander drove a Mitchell Starc delivery to mid-off and set off for a run.<\/p>\n

His partner Will Young was caught ball-watching at the start before he took off and then ran into Williamson.<\/p>\n

Marnus Labuschagne<\/a> then threw down the stumps with a direct hit, removing Williamson who was well short of his crease. \ufeff<\/p>\n

"I\ufeff cannot believe it, a direct hit … how has that happened?," former Aussie cricketer Brendon Julian said on TVNZ+.<\/p>\n

Craig McMillan was also in shock.<\/p>\n

"I can't believe what I've just seen here … bang, bang they run into each other … that is just a disaster for New Zealand," he said.<\/p>\n

The Black Caps troubles went from bad to worse a few balls later when Rachin Ravindra was gone of a third ball duck.<\/p>\n

Ravindra attempted a drive off Josh Hazlewood and picked out Nathan Lyon at point who took a good catch. \ufeff<\/p>\n

The young star's dismissal put the score at 3-12, capping an almighty top order collapse.<\/p>\n

Upon reviewing the wickets later, former Black Cap Mark Richardson described the run out as something that can happen down the street.<\/p>\n

"Is it anyone's fault? I don't know. We've all had that, when you're walking down the road and you go left and they go the same way, it's fine in the street. It's no good in between the wickets," he said.<\/p>\n

"But I don't think you can lay blame. Kane Williamson looked very, very angry walking off but I think it was because more just the shock of it and frustration. It did look like he could've sustained an injury as well, even worse for New Zealand."<\/p>\n

McMillan also went on to praise the fielding of Labuschagne who took the ball off balance and threw the stumps down very quickly. \ufeff<\/p>\n
