That apparently includes the sanctions for recruiting violations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">North Shore (Houston, Texas) was hit with significant sanctions from the UIL on Wednesday. The school&#8217;s offensive coordinator, Andrew Cameron, was suspended for three years and head coach Willie Gaston was suspended for two games.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Cameron had\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.msn.com\/en-us\/sports\/other\/uil-suspends-former-north-shore-assistant-football-coach-for-violating-recruiting-rules\/ar-BB1j3ZDL\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">recently resigned from his position<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0on the football staff, having done so prior to Wednesday&#8217;s decision from the UIL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">At the center of the issue are allegations that Cameron had met with and tried to recruit two football players from other programs to join him at North Shore. A powerhouse team,\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">North Shore finished the season 15-1<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">No. 11 in the final <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/usatodayhss.com\/2023\/final-2023-usa-today-sports-super-25-football-rankings-bishop-gorman-adds-4th-national-champ-title\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">USA TODAY HSS Super 25.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Cameron took full responsibility for the recruiting violations, underscoring that it was his own doing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Saying that he is from a family of educators,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uiltexas.org\/policy\/state-executive-committee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Cameron took full ownership of the recruiting violations<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> on Wednesday before the UIL State Executive Committee<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.
