The rise of th\ufeffe Matildas<\/a> to one of Australia's most beloved sports teams will be charted in a original Stan documentary to be released ahead of Paris 2024.<\/p>\n

The documentary, named Trailblazers<\/em>, covers the first FIFA recognised game in 1979, the Matildas striking for equal pay in 2015, heartbreak at Tokyo 2020 and Australia's giddy run to the semi-finals of the 2023 Women's World Cup on home soil.<\/a><\/p>\n

Created by an all female production team, Trailblazers<\/em> features interviews with the first Matildas captain, Julie Dolan, and current stars Sam Kerr<\/a>, Steph Catley, Mary Fowler, Ellie Carpenter, Teagan Micah, Melissa Barbieri, Kate Gill and Moya Dodd.<\/p>\n

The Stan Original Documentary Trailblazers is coming soon, <\/strong><\/em>only on Stan<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Trailblazers<\/em> also features contributions from ex-Socceroos captain and Stan Sport commentator Craig Foster, coach Tom Sermanni and Karen Menzies – the first Indigenous Matildas player.<\/p>\n

The Matildas booked their ticket for \ufeffParis 2024 with a resounding 10-0 win over Uzbekistan on Wednesday in Melbourne.<\/a><\/p>\n
