C\ufeffanterbury<\/a> have added some much-needed firepower to their forward pack, signing NRL<\/a> premiership winner Zane Tetevano<\/a> on a one-year deal.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old had been plying his trade in the Super League<\/a> with the Leeds Rhinos, \ufeffbut now looks set to finish his career in Australia with the Bulldogs.<\/p>\n

Tetevano brings over 120 games of first grade experience to the struggling club, as well as featuring for New Zealand at international level on three occasions.<\/p>\n

The front-rower played in the Sydney Roosters' successful 2018 grand final side and is expected to be in contention for selection in the early rounds after passing a recent medical examination and starting training at Belmore.<\/p>\n

"Zane is a highly respected senior player who will bring leadership and work ethic to our group," Phil Gould<\/a> said in a statement on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n

Tetevano joins the likes of Max King and Poasa Faamausili as front-row options at the Dogs, while the emergence of young gun Samuel Hughes – who just signed an extension – has the side in a good spot heading into the 2024 campaign.<\/p>\n

Gould had previously admitted the club's struggles in the middle-forward rotation, with Tetevano's arrival boosting a troublesome area for head coach Cameron Ciraldo<\/a>.<\/p>\n

"I think everyone will point out the fact we are struggling for depth in the middle-forwards area, which is obvious – we know that," he told Wide World of Sports' Six Tackles With Gus<\/em> prior to the season.<\/p>\n

"We need the ones that we've got there to stand up. We had to expose a lot of young fellas last year that weren't ready for it."<\/p>\n
