Coen Hess<\/a> will miss the entire 2024 NRL<\/a> campaign, with the Cowboys<\/a> veteran suffering a serious knee injury during the pre-season trial against Canberra.<\/p>\n

The experienced \ufeffforward left the field during North Queensland's win on Sunday, with scans now revealing the full extent of the injury.<\/p>\n

Hess \ufeffwill undergo surgery for a torn ACL and spend all of 2024 on the sidelines, which is the final year of his contract with the club.<\/p>\n

A six-time Queensland representative, Hess is one of the club's leaders.<\/p>\n

He has played more than 160 games for the Cowboys since making his debut in 2015.<\/p>\n

The news is a major blow for Todd Payten<\/a>'s side, which also released Luciano Leilua last week to the Dragons, while the likes of Mitch Dunn and James Tamou also departed.<\/p>\n
